Bought this GPS specifically for the Lane view and speed limit display. I can confirm that the speed limit display was pretty accurate through out the trip. It doesnt have any feature to sound an alarm for overspeeding; I would have switched it off even if it did. Lane view(junction view) worked in few places and didnt in others, where it did it was very useful. Routing in this GPS is quirky. As long as you follow the route it suggests, there was no problem. We wanted to take a different route, but couldn’t figure out how to. So we took a deviation and figured the GPS would adapt to that route. Seems we were wrong, it tried taking us back to the main route and adjusted only after about 30 miles. I may not have hit upon the correct way to do it, but we sure struggled to make it reroute. The touch screen is a bit slow (the old resistive type), dont expect a iphone interface. To be fair it seems to be the case with most GPS.

I bought this nuvi about a month back. Had some issues with the maps download initially. Garmin was having problems with their newly launched downloading software. But I called them and they guided me to use the older method, which is to get the maps directly from their website bypassing the downloader. Been using my nuvi extensively ever since and have been very happy with it. It’s fast and user friendly and I love the 5″ screen. Thumbs-up!
